Staff Picks: 2012 NHL Playoffs

by Maize_in_Spartyland

On Wednesday, April 11th, the NHL Playoffs begin with three first round matchups. The remaining teams start their series on either Thursday or Friday. Who do we have winning each series? We predicted the series winner and the length of the series.

First Round Scoring System

10 points for each correct team, 5 points for picking the correct number of games, and bonus points awarded based on the team seed. For example, if Vancouver was to win, and the correct number of games were picked, a total of 16 points would be awarded. If a staffer picked Vancouver and Los Angeles won, he would still be entitled to points for length of the series, assuming that was correct.

Second Round Scoring System

20 points for each correct team, 10 points for picking the correct number of games, and bonus points awarded based on the team seed.

Conference Finals Round Scoring System

30 points for each correct team, 15 points for picking the correct number of games, and bonus points awarded based on the team seed.

Stanley Cup Finals Round Scoring System

40 points for each correct team, 20 points for picking the correct number of games, and bonus points awarded based on the team seed.
