Buckeyes vs. Penn State – November 19, 2011

From the loss at Purdue, to last week’s game in the Shoe. The Buckeyes knew what they had to do and they could not accomplish it. They will not be defending their Big Ten title this year, which marks the end of their seven year run. There is, however, some good news. If NCAA allows the Bucks, they can still get to a bowl game. The past five years were in the BCS. The two National Title appearances, a Fiesta, Rose and a Sugar Bowl. That is one hell of a run. Penn State really put a damper on the dreams for the title run.
Penn State started from their first drive and took an early 7-0 lead from the feet of Stephfon Green. The Nittany Lions came with their ground game and crushed the Silver Bullets with 39 rushes for 239 yards. The Buckeyes did keep it close though. Braxton Miller ran a 24 yard TD run to keep the score with in reach. It was a 10-7 Penn State lead. The second quarter is where the scoring was for both teams. The Buckeyes O really never got going to where they should of been. Penn State really over powered the young Bucks. They beat them from the inside out. Even with the return of DeVier Posey the O never got a spark. The Lions again used the ground game and Green shredded the Bucks D. Green scored Penn State’s second TD with a 4 yard run. The score was 17-7 Penn State. The next series for the Bucks was great and the the Buckeyes drove down the field and Miller found Jake Stonburner for a 7 yard TD pass. On the final play of the first half , the Lions kicked a 46 yard field goal for a 20-14 lead. The second half turned out not so good for the Buckeyes. The Bucks had two turnovers (fumbles) and both were recovered by Penn State. One fumble came from a drive that started at the one yard line of the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes D had a great goal line stand to hold the Nittany Lions out of the end zone. That turned out to be the best thing to happen to the Bucks in the second half.  The final score was 20-14 Penn State.
There is one more game left and that of course is the biggest rival in all of sports. The Ohio State vs Michigan game. Its in the Big “ugly” House this year. No matter the record, no matter the stats this is “The Game”. This is what we all wait for the entire year. Its Ohio State vs Michigan thats all you need to know. Buckeyes bring Heart they will win all there is to it. GO BUCKS!!!
