Final Thoughts on the 2012 NCAA Basketball Championship

by Maize_in_Spartyland

#1 Kentucky (37-2) (16-0 SEC) vs. #2 Kansas (32-6) (16-2 Big 12) – Louisiana Superdome

Where to find the game: Monday, April 2nd at 9:23 PM EST on CBS.

Line: Kentucky -6

Over/Under: 137

When the line opened for the NCAA Basketball National Championship game, Kentucky was a 7-point favorite. Now, the line is Kentucky by 6. The game should be a pro-Kentucky crowd, but the movement appears to favor the Jayhawks.

The two teams met on November 15th, with Kentucky beating Kansas 75-65, covering the 6.5-point spread. The total of 140 went UNDER the 148 over/under.

Kentucky is 16-20-2 ATS (16-20-2 ATS as a favorite) on the year; the Wildcats had 21 of their games go UNDER. Kansas is 19-17-1 ATS (2-2-1 ATS as an underdog) on the year; the Jayhawks had 22 of their games go UNDER.

Kentucky is 5-4-1 ATS in their last ten games, with 5 going OVER and 5 going UNDER. Kansas is 5-5 ATS in their last ten games, with 6 going UNDER and 4 going OVER.

We like the under in this one, but we’ll stay away from the point spread. If we were forced to take a team ATS, we’d take Kansas.
